About me

Mission Statement…

My commitment is to provide the best possible photography service experience from consultation to final delivery.

My Vision…

I consider my method very instinctive; my relationship with the client brings out who they are, each assignment is carefully planned and executed. I see things as moments, color is considered, the subject’s mood is interpreted. I try to understand the purpose of the photograph. The ultimate goal is to provide you with photographs that last a lifetime.

Technique…

I pursue precise colour and exposure upon capture; the use of photo editing software is to enhance an image where it is not visually deliberate. You probably won’t realize the treatment. Despite using a digital camera my photographs look real rather than digitally altered or “photoshop’d”. I deem this manner the only way a photograph truly stands the test of time. The common denominator in the world’s most revered photographs is mood; this is created with good lighting and composition.

Some things I would like you to know about me:
1. I was First Assistant to a Portrait Master in a very high profile wedding photography company from 1995-1999 and with this experience I believe someone should be a photographer’s assistant before becoming a photographer
2. From 1995-2001 I used a film camera, relying on composition and lighting to create dramatic images before Photoshop was ever used
3. My style has remained consistent over the last 17 years; my composition and technique has evolved and continually improves
4. On assignment I use (4) different lenses that give (4) very unique perspectives and (3) different lighting systems that give (3) very different lighting results
5. I believe a good photographer and an experienced assistant taking 500 photographs is better than 2 photographers taking 2000 pictures.
